Lancashire Road Police 'marvel' at HGV driver who was watching Avengers whilst driving on the M6

Just when they think they've seen it all, some levels of stupidity must still astonish our Lancashire Road Police.

Officers reported a busy morning today after two drivers were spotted driving at excess speed through the new junction roadworks on the M55.

In a picture posted on Twitter, one of the drivers was clocked at a staggering 80 mph, where the restriction is currently 50mph.

But the day took a surreal twist as they headed back on the M6, where they saw a driver of an HGV watching an Avengers film behind the wheel.

The officer tweeted: "Busy morning for #T2TacOps. Two drivers reported for excess speed through the roadworks on M55 this morning.

"One HGV driver reported for watching Avengers whilst driving down the M6."
