Woman assaulted

A MAN assaulted a woman then went on to commit driving offences.

John Driver, of Three Nooks, Bamber Bridge, near Preston, was found guilty of assaulting his victim on June 29 in Clayton Brook, and driving without due care and attention following a trial at Preston Magistrates Court.

The 57-year-old was given a curfew, and must pay £50 compensation, a £60 victim surcharge, £500 costs and a £520 criminal court charge.

PRESTON: A man has admitted possessing the class A drugs cocaine and methylenedioxymethylamphetamine before Chorley magistrates.

Mathew Halliwell, 34, of Russell Square, Chorley, who was found with 30 tablets, is expected to appear before Preston Crown Court on November 17 to be sentenced, and was given unconditional bail.

PRESTON: A man is banned from every shop in Preston apart from Aldi, to buy food, until he is sentenced.

Thief Daniel Cookson, 53, of Shakespeare Road, Ribbleton, Preston, has admitted stealing £216 of perfume to Preston Magistrates’ Court, where he will appear again on November 6.

PRESTON: Jordan Barnes, 20, of Garden Street, Lostock Hall, was given a rehabilitation requirement after admitting stealing a sat nav and must pay £30 compensation, a £60 surcharge, £85 costs and a £180 court charge.

PREStON: A trucker has admitted failing to make an entry on transport recording equipment and failing to comply with an inspection by transport officers.

Gary Alan Davies, 47, of Moss Bank, Coppull, Chorley, must pay a £300 fine, £300 costs and a £30 victim surcharge, the bench at Chorley Magistrates’ Court has ruled.

PRESTON: A man who was spotted in the company of another man who has a restraining order against him has pleaded guilty to breaching the order.

Paul Browning, 45, of Fylde Road, Ashton, Preston, will appear before Preston Crown Court on November 17 to be sentenced and is remanded in custody.

Zemhret Kelata, 25, of Springbank, Preston, admits failing to pay his £11.40 train fare and must pay a £70 fine, £11.40 compensation, £20 surcharge, and £50 costs.

Victor Trusch, 59, of Pole Street, Preston, was banned for 12 months after admitting driving while unfit through drink and must pay a £130 fine, £20 surcharge, £55 costs and a £150 court charge.

Peter Price, 65, of Grizedale Crescent, Preston, was bound over in the sum of £100 for 12 months after admitting breaching the peace.

Julie Andrews, 52, of Byron Crescent, Coppull, Chorley, was found guilty of failing to give driver information and must pay a £660 fine, £66 surcharge and £85 costs.

Anthony Copeman, 31, of Twemlow Parade, Heysham, was found guilty of failing to give driver information and must pay a £660 fine, £66 surcharge and £85 costs.

Claire Lyons, 32, of Pall Mall, Chorley,was given a curfew after admitting stealing alcohol and must pay £389.50 compensation, £85 costs and a £180 court charge.

Lawrence Hindle, 55, of Carlton Avenue, Clayton-le-Woods, Chorley, was banned for 17 months after admitting drink driving and must pay a £380 fine, £38 surcharge, £85 costs and a £150 court charge.
