Who’s been in court - and why.

PRESTON: Bhavesh Parekh, 34, of Northcote Road, Preston, admits stealing a drill and laptops worth £1,330 from Preston Motor Park on Preston Docks.

Parekh also admitted trespassing with intent to steal.

Preston magistrates jailed him for 38 weeks and ordered him to pay an £80 surcharge and £180 court charge.

CHORLEY: Melissa Ann Watson, 25, of Water Street, Chorley, was found guilty of failing to notify the authorities her husband was working, affecting her claim for housing benefit.

She must do 100 hours unpaid work and pay a £60 surcharge and £250 costs, Preston magistrates ruled.

CHORLEY: Richard Dornan, of Highfield Road North, Adlington, admits breaching a restraining order.

Magistrates discharged him for 12 months with a £15 surcharge, £85 costs and a £150 court charge.

CHORLEY: A man has been jailed for 16 weeks for breaching a restraining order and assaulting a woman twice on different days.

Preston magistrates took Adrian Snape’s violent record into account.

Snape, 31, of The Heys, Coppull, admitted the offences and must pay an £80 surcharge and £180 court charge.

PRESTON: A woman who breached a suspended sentence by going on to commit a shop theft has been jailed for 19 weeks.

Angela Craigie, 40, of Fishergate Hill, Preston, stole deodorants and air fresheners, magistrates heard.

She must pay an £80 surcharge and £150 court charge.

PRESTON: Yer Muhammad, 36, of Denville Road, Preston, admits beating a woman and was discharged for 12 months but Preston magistrates ordered him to pay a £150 court charge and £450 costs.

Nathan Richardson, 18, of no fixed abode, was bound over in the sum of £100 to keep the peace for 12 months after admitting breaching the peace.

Nigel Taylor-Jones, 49, of Tulketh Road, Preston, admits stealing a sandwich and wine, and must pay £25.50 compensation, £85 costs and a £150 court charge.

Robert Battersby, 49, of Watery Lane, Ashton-on-Ribble, is banned for three years after admitting drink driving and must pay a £200 fine, £20 surcharge, £85 costs and a £150 court charge.

Alexander Wilson, 25, of Hayfield Avenue, Hoghton, who admits drink driving, received 18 weeks suspended for 12 months, a five year ban and must do 80 hours unpaid work and pay a £200 fine, £20 surcharge, £85 costs and a £180 court charge.

Georgina Snell, 37, of Far Lane, Penwortham, Preston, was given a curfew after admitting stealing shaving cream, and must pay £7.35 compensation, a £60 surcharge, £85 costs and a £150 court charge.

Carol Gallacher, 48, of Rowan Place, Lancaster, was jailed for 28 days after admitting stealing razors, and must pay an £80 surcharge and a £150 court charge.

Paul Richardson, 34, of Golden Hill Lane, Leyland, was discharged for 12 months after admitting stealing meat, but must pay a £15 surcharge and a £150 court charge.

Leroy Colecozy, 41, of Fylde Road, Preston, must have drug treatment after admitting theft and must pay a £60 surcharge, £85 costs and £150 court charge.

Gary Stock, 32, of Samuel Street, Preston, must have drug treatment and pay £360 compensation, £60 surcharge, £85 costs and £180 court charge after admitting stealing perfume.

Ian Sutton, 34, of Haig Avenue, Leyland, was bound over in the sum of £50 after admitting breaching the peace.
