Kirkham family pays tribute to paraplegic son as Preston murder suspect is released under investigation

A heartbroken family has paid tribute to their paraplegic son whose body was found at his home in Kirkham last week.

The body of Lee Walker, 47, was found at a home in Chestnut Close, off Kirkgate, last Wednesday (April 8).

A 39-year-old woman from Preston was arrested on suspicion of murder, but has since been released under investigation.

Police are currently treating the death as unexplained and the investigation into Mr Walker's death is ongoing.

A Home Office post mortem examination was carried out last week, but a cause of death has yet to be established.

Today (April 15), Mr Walker's family have paid tribute to their son.

"Lee was a great son, kind thoughtful, generous and funny," said Lee’s family.

"All our hearts are broken. He tried so hard adapting to becoming paraplegic.

"We are all so proud of him, RIP my loving son Lee xxx."

Detectives are still investigating the circumstances of Mr Walker's death.

Detective Chief Inspector Lee Wilson, of the Force Major Investigation Team, said: "Our thoughts remain with the family and friends of Mr Walker at this time.

"Our enquiries are very much on-going and while we have made an arrest I would continue to appeal to anyone with any information to contact us.

"I would particularly like to hear from anyone who saw or heard anything suspicious at the address over the last week or so."
