Elderly residents at a day centre were told about the menace of bogus doorstep callers in an awareness event.
Lancaster based PCSOs Paula Winder and Lucy Hesketh spent an afternoon with a number of elderly people at Vale View Day Centre, in Lancaster, informing then of the ways bogus callers operate.
They provided residents with information, advice and packs to help reduce the risk of them falling victim to crime.
The event comes after the day centre and the Lancashire Partnership Against Crime (LANPAC) agreed to fund the bogus caller information packs.
Both organisations are also working in partnership with Lancashire Fire and Rescue Service, which has agreed to help hand out the packs when fire staff visit vulnerable people at home during their Safe and Warm campaign.
Anyone with suspicions about doorstep callers in an area are being urged to look out for their vulnerable neighbours and call police.
