Detectives investigating a mass street brawl just before Christmas have released a CCTV image of a man they would like to speak to in connection with the incident.

Officers were called at 11.45pm on Tuesday December 23 following reports of a fight involving approximately 15 men outside the Queens Head pub on Moor Street, Ormskirk.

Two men needed treatment at Southport Hospital for injuries suffered in the melee. One suffered cuts to the head and the other facial injuries.

Four men aged 26, 19, 27 and 31 have since been arrested and have been released on police bail.

But officers would still like to talk to the man in the CCTV image who they believe could help with their enquiries.

DS Di Higham said: “We have made good progress with our investigation so far but we are still appealing for help to trace the man pictured in the CCTV images.

“If anybody recognises him or has any information that could assist with our enquiries I would urge them to contact us.”

Shortly after the incident a police spokesman said: “We are still trying to establish why the fight started and exactly who was involved.”

Anyone with information should contact police on 101 quoting log number 1396 of December 23rd.

Alternatively, they can contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111 or online at No personal details are taken, information is not traced or recorded and you will not go to court.
