Police are investigating after two teenagers are reported to have racially abused a girl on a bus in Preston.

The incident, which happened on board the 6A Gamull Lane service run by Preston Bus, was reported to have happened at around 9pm on August 2.

Officers would now like to speak to two teenagers, thought to be a boy and girl, who are aged around 13 or 14.

A police spokesman said: "Two teenagers are reported to have made racist comments to a girl on a bus.

"We are hoping to receive some CCTV footage from the bus company shortly."

A spokesman for Preston Bus said: "We are aware of the allegation of racist abuse on one of our buses.

"These kinds of incidents are very rare on our buses - this is the first one that I've been made aware of in two years.

"It's in our interests to make sure our passengers feel safe when traveling with us and we are assisting the police with their investigation.

"We will always do our best to help our passengers and any incidents like this should be reported to us or the police."
