Head on collision sparks witness appeal

Police are appealing for information following a head on collision between a Nissan Qashqai and a Citroen C4 on the A6 Preston Lancaster Road, Bilsborrow on March 1.

The driver of the Nissan, a 45-year-old woman suffered bruising along with the front seat child passenger.

The two rear passengers, also children, were taken to Manchester Children’s Hospital where they were treated for their injuries.

The 71-year-old man driving the Citroen was taken to Royal Preston Hospital with serious injuries including broken ribs, a broken hip and a broken arm along with a 68-year-old passenger who suffered broken ribs.

PS Steve Wignall of the Road Policing Team said: “We are appealing for anyone who may have witnessed the collision to get in touch as any information they may have could help us with our enquiries into how the collision occurred.”
