South Ribble police officers have now launched an appeal to reunite the dimiutive creature with its toddler owner.

In a Tweet posted alongside a picture a police spokesman said: " Can you help find me?

"I am a guinea pig that has been stolen from my home in Leyland.

"My owner a young toddler can't understand why I have gone away."
