Gang hurl rocks at Preston mosque

A gang threw rocks and racially abused a caretaker at a mosque in Preston in broad daylight.

The attack at the Jamea Masjid mosque in Clarendon Street, Avenham happened on Thursday, February 9 at around 4.35pm.

Police inspector Dave Britton said: “A group of people were racially abusing people at the mosque, throwing rocks at a caretaker before running off towards Manchester Road.”

He confirmed that the force was still investigating the matter, taking witness statements and making CCTV inquiries.
