Four arrested after police shut down Broadfield Drive in Leyland

Around a dozen police vehicles rushed to the scene, near the junction with Golden Hill Lane, and shut the road at around 5.40pm.
Residents watched with alarm as a grey Vauxhall Astra was boxed in by two unmarked police BMW's, swiftly followed by tactical ops, the dog team and a fleet of police units.

Hide AdThe road was blocked off between the Golden Hill Lane roundabout and Bannister Drive as the dramatic police operation unfolded.
Lancashire Police said four people - three men and a woman - were arrested at the scene and taken into custody.
The force is due to release more details on the incident later this morning.
Two black helicopters were earlier spotted circling the sky over Leyland and South Ribble, but these were not involved in the Broadfield Drive police operation.
The mystery of the two choppers, which could not be identified using the Flight Radar tracker, has now been solved.
