Former deputy head teacher from Preston charged with historic sex offences

A former deputy head teacher has been charged with a string of sexual offences against children, say police.

Grahame Brennand, 69, of Calder Avenue, Preston, is accused of 24 counts of indecent assault against 13 girls.

The alleged offences were committed between 1974 and 1988 when Mr Brennand was working as a teacher and then deputy head teacher at a county school.

Police have said that all the victims were aged 10 at the time.

Investigating Officer Keith Hill from Lancashire Constabulary’s Operation Fervent Team is leading the case.

Mr Brennand is due to appear before Burnley Magistrates’ Court on April 18th 2017.
