Eight charged in gun disorder probe

Five men from Preston have been charged in connection with an alleged conspiracy to commit violent disorder, following a incident in which a gun was fired.

Uwais Bagas, 24, of Watling Street Road, Faizal Ghani, 28, of Albert Terrace, Mohammed Mussa, 23, of Garstang Road, Sohail Patel, 32, of Blackpool Road, and Syed Razvi, 34, of Ashworth Grove, appeared before Blackburn Magistrates on Thursday, with the case sent to the Crown Court.

Three Blackburn men were charged with conspiracy to commit violent disorder and possession of a firearm with intent to cause fear or violence.

A 25-year-old man was arrested in a raid on Old Lancaster Lane, Preston, yesterday, and a 23-year-old inmate at HMP Preston was arrested in connection with the incident, which happened at Kempton Rise, Blackburn, on December 14.

They are currently being questioned by officers.
