Drug driver arrested after driving 19 miles on M65 with just three tyres

A man has been arrested after driving a Volkswagen Golf with just three tyres on the M65 this morning (July 4).

Police stopped the driver after officers spotted the Golf motoring along with a completely bald front offside tyre.

Officers learned that the man had driven 19 miles along the M65 in pouring rain - and then had the gall to ask officers why they had stopped him.

The man's morning quickly went from bad to worse after officers asked him to take a roadside drug test, where he tested positive for cannabis and cocaine.

The driver was arrested at the scene and his car has been seized.

Not quite the 'Super Saturday' this driver was hoping for!
