Cyclist hospitalised with serious injuries after collision in Preston

A cyclist has been taken to hospital after being seriously injured in a collision in Preston.

The collision happened on the B6242 at the junction with Lancashire Way at about 5.10pm yesterday (Monday, December 17)

A Vauxhall Astra collided with a pedal cycle leaving the rider, a 47-year-old man from Preston, with serious injuries.

He was taken by ambulance to the Royal Preston Hospital where he remains.

Police confirmed that the driver stopped stopped and will be interviewed in due course.

Police are now appealing for witnesses to the collision.

Sgt Paul Maguire, of Tac Ops, said: “This collision has left a man with some serious injuries and I would appeal for any witnesses or anyone with dashcam footage to get in touch.”
