Community praise after police mount drugs raid in Preston's Plungington

Residents in the Plungington area of Preston have praised police for taking further action on drug activity in the area over weekend.

Preston Police yesterday recovered a large quantity of Class B drugs from an address on Plungington Road.

A spokesman for the Preston Neighbourhood Taskforce said: "This comes as a result of information from the community.

"We have recovered a large quantity of Class B drugs."

Residents have been vocal recently about problems with drug dealing in the area.

After the latest police raid, Coun Pav Akhtar, who serves Plugington ward, commented on the Preston Police Facewbook site: "Great job Preston police!

"One drug den at a time.

"Residents are really grateful that you’re helping make our community safer and cleaner for our children, families and all residents.

"Well done and let’s keep it up. One drug den at a time."

Another resident commented: "Well done people of Plungington. All these dealers need putting in jail for a very long time. Good job police.

The force has reminded residents to join them for a question and answer session on Facebook about local concerns on Wednesday June 24 from 7pm to 8pm.
