A coach driver has been jailed for eight months after being found with a stash of thousands of sickening indecent images and videos of youngsters.
Kieron John Smith, of Northgate, Leyland, admitted three counts of making indecent images of children and one of possessing them when he appeared before Preston Crown Court.
Mr Justice Sweeney imposed the jail term after his guilty pleas.
The 28-year-old will also have to sign on the sex offender’s register for 10 years and has been given an indefinite sexual harm prevention order restricting his internet use.
It is understood he was arrested in summer 2015 during a nationwide probe into the distribution of indecent images of children.
Officers use specialised technology to track and identify offenders.
The court heard police executed a search warrant at his home on Northgate in Leyland at 7.45am on June 2 as a result of intelligence that someone at the address had been offering to share indecent images of children.
Computer equipment was seized and indecent images and videos found, some of the most serious category.
