Matthew Edward Winstanley, of Eaves Green Road, Chorley, pleaded guilty to both of the offences at Preston Magistrates’ Court in September.

The bench had to commit him to the higher court for sentence after it emerged he was subject to a suspended jail term for another offence.

He was also on a prison licence at the time he committed the assaults, prosecutors said.

The 28-year-old defendant was supposed to be sentenced on Tuesday at Preston Crown Court, but Judge Graham Knowles QC adjourned the hearing to December 23.

The women were both attacked by Winstanley during an incident in Chorley on September 5 this year.

He also admits communicating with one of the women, in breach of a restraining order that had been imposed, on the same date.
