CCTV appeal launched after assault leaves Preston man in coma

A 20-year-old man was found with serious injuries at the junction with Church Street and Avenham Street, close to the Co-Op bank at around 2.40am on February 16.
The victim, from Preston, had suffered several cuts, facial fractures and bleeds on the brain in the assault.

Hide AdHe was taken to hospital for treatment and surgery, with his current condition described as critical.
Two other men, aged 19 and 20, were also attacked during the incident, suffering minor injuries
Eight men, aged between 19 and 31, from Blackburn, have been arrested on suspicion of assault.
Seven, have been released under investigation.
The eighth, a 22-year-old man who was arrested yesterday, remains in police custody.

Hide AdFollowing a police appeal for information yesterday, officers have now released CCTV images of two men they would like to speak to in connection with the assault.
A spokesperson for Lancashire Police said: "Detectives are urging anyone who recognises these men, seen here on CCTV in a nearby bar, shortly before the attack, to contact 101."
