CCTV appeal after man beaten and left for dead in Preston street

Police have released CCTV of a horrific Preston street attack in which a man was beaten and left for dead.

The man was found unconscious with a serious head injury outside the Dog Inn on Church Street, Preston shortly after 4.30am on Thursday, December 20.

Police were contacted by paramedics who had found the 29-year-old man lying in the street.

He was taken by ambulance to the Royal Preston Hospital where he remains in a serious but stable condition.

Following an initial CCTV appeal for information, a 53-year-old man was arrested by police on suspicion of assault and has been released under investigation pending further enquiries.

Det Con Dan Armstrong, of Preston CID, said: "Following an earlier appeal for information we have now identified a man we wanted to speak to in connection with the assault.

“It is now believed a second man is linked to the attack and we want to identify him. He is wearing a distinctive silver jacket.

“If you know who he is, please come forward.”
