Burnley nightclub attack victim may be scarred for life

Police are appealing for information after a man suffered a serious injury during an attack at a Burnley nightclub.

At around 1-15am on Easter Monday (April 2nd) the man, in his 30s, was struck to the face inside the BB11 club in Hargreaves Street.

He suffered a serious cut under his eye and a chipped tooth and was taken to Burnley Hospital for treatment.

DC David Bowler, of Lancashire Constabulary’s East Division CID, said: “We are still trying to establish the circumstances of this attack, which has left the victim with a nasty injury to his face.

“He is likely to be scarred for life.

“At the time of the attack there were a lot of people on the dance floor and the surrounding area who will have seen what happened.

“We would ask them to come forward and tell us what they saw.”

A 19 year old man has been arrested on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm (GBH). He has been released under investigation.
