Burglars stole safes and a TV from Fleetwood Town Football Club.

Police believe at least four people broke into the club, on Highbury Avenue, between 8pm on Saturday, January 26, and 8am the following morning. They used equipment such as an angle grinder, crowbar and hammer to break in.

They gained access via a perimeter gate close to the Memorial Park, and from there forced through a door within the stands.

Once inside the offenders searched various rooms before leaving via the same gate with two safes, described as small and black with a keypad locking system, and a 42” flat screen LG TV.

The four offenders were all dressed in dark clothing with face coverings and it is believe they were inside the football club for a considerable amount of time.

Detective Inspector Gareth Willis said: “There has been a degree of planning and preparation involved in this burglary. Although a vehicle wasn’t seen, I believe the offenders will have used one to get away, given the property they stole. Local residents may hold the key to this crime. If anybody has seen any suspicious people and/or vehicles around the club grounds between these times I would urge them to come forward.

“Some of the stolen property may also have been discarded in the local area, if you come across it please contact police.”
