A Preston man has been found guilty of murder.

Spurned lover Jason Taylor, 21, of Westfield Road, Lostock Hall, stabbed Adam Wilson, causing a fatal leg injury after bursting into his ex-girlfriend Jodie Emery’s home on Albrighton Crescent, Lostock Hall, Preston, and finding him there.

The jury at Preston Crown Court took 90 minutes to reach their verdict on Wednesday afternoon.

Taylor stood with his head down, but then looked up and shook his head slightly as the verdict was returned.

He then sat down and put his face in hands, as Recorder Anthony Russell QC explained there was only one sentence he could pass - life.

He said: “Jason Taylor, you’ve been convicted of murder. There is only one sentence I can impose, but I have to determine the minimum term that can be imposed.”

Sentence will take place on Thursday.
