Body of man believed to be in his 50s found in Blackburn canal

Lancashire Constabulary have confirmed the body of a man was found in a canal in Blackburn.
Police were called to the Leeds and Liverpool canal, near Lockside, at around 11am on Thursday (February 27).

Hide AdOfficers at the scene found the body of a man who is thought to be in his 50s.
The man has not been formally identified, and officers are in the process of tracing his next of kin.
A spokesperson for Lancashire Police said: "We were called at about 11am today (Thursday, February 27) to a report of a man's body in the near Lockside in Blackburn.
"Officers are in the process of tracing the next of kin of the deceased man, thought to be in his 50s, who has not yet been formerly identified

Police want to speak to anyone who saw a man wearing a navy-blue jacket by the canal, or in surrounding area, at around 9.30pm on Wednesday (February 26).
