In November 2019, Toader appeared in court and pleaded guilty to two offences under the Perjury Act.

Last week he was ordered to carry out unpaid work and handed a four month prison sentence, suspended for 12 months. He was also fined £383 and given six points on his licence for the original speeding offence.

PC Sean Erett of the Lancashire Police TacOps Team, said: "Toader was driving at an extremely high speed and it is no exaggeration to say he put other motorists' lives in danger.

"When he realised he would have to face the consequences of this he tried to lie his way out of it, providing false details on two separate forms.

"We hope the fact he has now been convicted and sentenced sends a message that we will seek to prosecute in cases like this and that the consequences are just not worth it."
