Bikers receive fines in Garstang for using the quiet roads as a ‘race track’

Two motorbike riders received fines from police in Garstang this afternoon after being caught using the quiet roads as a ‘race track’, according to officers.

The bikers were stopped on the A6 Preston Lancaster New Road at the Croston Road crossroads by officers from Lancs Road Police.

An officer for the team tweeted that the two riders were issued with fines and traffic offence reports for being out after they were previously warned last week.

The tweet said: "Thank you to all those that have #stayedathome and #savedlives #protecttheNHS . These two however consider themselves exempt and decided to treat the quiet roads as a race track! A number of TORs issued and fines for being out having be warned to previously #stayathome last week."
