Appeal after attack at Mytton Fold Golf Club

Police are appealing for information after a man was assaulted in an attack at Mytton Fold Golf Club in Blackburn on Friday 21 March.

The victim, a 41 year-old local man, had attended the Sports Man’s dinner at the golf club in Langho. During the evening, he challenged a drunken group who had been talking throughout guest speeches.

At around 11pm, the victim left the golf club to get a taxi home after an altercation with the group after they challenged him about his previous comments.

Whilst waiting for his friends, a group of men approached the taxi and two of them attacked the victim.

DC Rach Higson said, “This was a particularly violent attack and I am very keen to find those responsible.

“The men delivered a barrage of kicks and punches on the victim who was unable to protect himself. He is still waiting to hear whether he needs surgery on his fractured arm.

“I appeal to anyone who has any information about the people responsible for this to contact us.

One of the men responsible for the attack is described as white male, 45-50 years-old, 6ft 2 ins, stocky build with balding hairline and very thin, short grey hair. The second man is a white male, approximately 35 years-old who was wearing a blue suit.
