Crash victim in serious condition after being trapped in car wreck near Preston

A person has been seriously injured after a crash near Preston yesterday (Monday, September 21).

Emergency services rushed to Rosemary Lane in Bartle after two cars were involved in a crash at 11.05am.

Two fire engines from Fulwood and Penwortham were called to assist paramedics at the scene, where one of two casualties had been trapped inside one of the cars.

Firefighters used cutting equipment to free the injured person from the wreck, before handing them over to ambulance crews.

Fire crews rescue person trapped in car after Preston crash

Both patients were taken to Royal Preston Hospital by ambulance, where one patient remains in a serious condition.

An ambulance service spokesman said: "We were called at 11.08am and attended with two ambulances and a rapid response vehicle.

"Two patients were taken to hospital. One patient had a minor leg injury and the second patient was in a serious condition."
