Revellers across Lancashire were today gearing up to see in the New Year in style.
Clubs, pubs and restaurants were preparing for busy nights with a wide range of events planned to tempt party-goers out of their homes on Thursday night.
One of the biggest nights will be at the Evoque nightclub in Preston, which is staging its Winter Wonderland dance event into the early hours of 2015.
A spokesman said : “This is set to be huge, a guaranteed sell-out.”
The club is now offering drinks and entry for eight people in a private booth for £100.
Meanwhile, Luminar Leisure’s other Preston venue, Cameo & Vinyl, is staging a Las Vegas-themed party night.
It will feature roulette tables, poker tables, showgirls, and other themed attractions.
Also in Preston, Club Mokai’s bounce night returns with a bang.
Club 53 is staging a goth-themed “Dark-cide New Year’s Eve Party” for its faithful followers in the city.
Those with different musical tastes will be heading to Preston Guild Hall for the Last night of the Preston Proms 2014. Promoters promise all your rousing proms favourites, with a traditional welcome to 2015, plus indoor fireworks.
Baluga Bar in Preston city centre is staging a New Year’s Eve Masquerade Ball with DJ’s Kaos, Kid Wonder and Jay Whalley.
The Continental in South Meadow Lane, Preston, will be saying goodbye to 2014 in style with The Funky Onion spinning vinyl ‘til late.
Rift Bar in Preston is staging its New Year’s Eve house party from 10pm.
A Lancashire police spokesman said: “If you are celebrating with a few drinks, leave the car at home.”
