A Ribble Valley Borough councillor has been air-lifted to hospital with a head injury following a road traffic collision.
Conservative councillor Ged Mirfin, who represents Billington and Old Langho, was in collision with a car while he walked his son to school in Langho.
Emergency services including the air ambulance arrived and Coun. Mirfin was flown to Royal Preston Hospital. His son was unhurt and it is believed the driver of the car was treated at the scene for shock.
The incident happened at 8.50am on Friday.
Whalley councillor Joyce Holgate said: “This is a very sad incident. I send my best wishes to the family and I hope Ged gets better soon.”
