Labour’s Rosie Cooper retained West Lancashire with an increased majority
She fought off opposition from the Conservatives and a UKIP surge to take the seat she has held since 2005.
Following the result, at around 5am today, she tweeted thanks to supporters, saying: “Thank you to the people of West Lancashire for re-electing me to carry on working hard for them. I am humbled and privileged.”
She increased her majority in the seat, covering Ormskirk and Burscough, by 4.4 per cent.
