One of Lancashire’s most controversial scare attractions will return this Valentine’s Day.
The Scare Kingdom Scream Park at Hawkshaw Farm Park, home of Mrs Dowson’s Ice Cream, in the Ribble Valley hit the headlines in 2013 after being slammed by rape charities.
This year bosses behind the attraction say it will feature new storylines and casting but say the adults only section Psychomanteum section will have “horrific twists and turns”.
The controversial Psychomanteum part of the attraction was labelled ‘degrading.’
An Evening Post reporter visited one of the firm’s attractions in 2013 and was shoved into a wheelchair and had a bag put over her head; strapped down to a bed; and confronted by a man waving a sex toy in her face.
Jason Karl, chief creative executive for AtmosFEAR Scare Entertainment, the production company behind the attraction, said: “With this attraction we really wanted to offer guests something different and unique to other entertainment offerings at this time of year.
“It’s the second time we’ve offered a Valentine’s experience, and as with all our attractions here at Scare Kingdom Scare Park, the Valentine’s attractions are reimagined every year.”
In a statement the company said the now ‘infamous’ Psychomanteum will be turned into a Valentine’s tale of scorn and the supernatural with horrific twists and turns.
The 20 minute horror experience is open to everyone, with the option of also entering Psychomanteum, an attraction guests go through alone.
Bosses say both sections of the scream park are brand new and different from any previous attractions at the park.
