Chico Time for charity challenge

From belly dancing, star jumps and a Chico dance, fitness fanatics were put through their paces for a 24-hour work-out for Children in Need.

Former X Factor singer Chico joined other personal trainers including Pierre Pozutto, former The Apprentice star Katie Bulmer-Cooke and Sunny Singh to lead sessions at Ribby Hall Village, which were streamed live on GymCube’s Facebook page over Friday and Saturday.

Over the 24-hour period, audiences at the Wrea Green venue were asked to follow classes in belly dancing, aerobics, pilates and high-intensity interval training with different trainers taking charge.
But Kevin Foster-Wiltshire, founder of GymCube and Reebok Master Trainer, proved he had the most stamina and worked out for 24 hours.

He said: “I didn’t tell my team I was doing the whole 24 hours. I just kept saying to my class if I reached a certain amount of money, I would do the next session and it carried on from there.

“I want to raise as much money as possible for Children in Need.

“I guess Chico may be the most well known name, but we have had some well-known personal trainers, such as Katie Bulmer-Cooke who was on The Apprentice in 2014 and Sunny Singh’s belly dancing session was a great laugh. I must have looked a bit silly when doing that one.

“We did something different every half hour to keep people interested, such as high-intensity interval training, abs and pilates.”

It is thought that around £22,000 has been raised so far.

Kevin added: “We’re overwhelmed, absolutely over the moon.

“Although I did the full 24 hours, I could not have done it without the help of everyone involved coming in periodically to help me.

“Over 30 instructors helped including Chico, Jess McKee, Stacey Jacques and Matt Boyles, who in particular stopped me from dying, allowing me to two-step behind the camera.”

Every GymCube membership taken up from the beginning of the live stream until the Children In Need broadcast on November 18 will be donated to the charity. A first payment of £7.95 is taken for a monthly membership and £17.95 quarterly.
