Three registered charities are looking to the people of Preston to help save lives in Africa.

Proceeds from a charity art exhibition in the city this week will go directly to Africa Relief Trust, Conserve Africa and Safe Africa.

The event comes just a matter of weeks after a similar event held in Fulwood raised £1,500. The exhibition is being staged over several floors of Lime House on Market Street (10am-4pm).

“This is a major event for the charities and hopefully local people will turn out in support,” said Tony Peers, a volunteer for Africa Relief Trust based in Longridge. “We have been very fortunate in securing such a great location in the city centre. The three charities operate separately but they are united in their fight to support grief-stricken regions in Africa where many people are dying through lack of clean water.”
