Detailed plans were submitted with Preston Council in relation to a mixed retail warehouse and leisure development with parking, already approved off the roundabout at Olivers Place in Fulwood.

Planning permission had already been granted for the warehouse, health and fitness club and smaller units, and councillors agreed unanimously to allow a different layout from the previously approved positions.

A report from officers to the council’s planning committee said: “The principle of the proposed development has already been established through the outline planning permission and the submitted reserved matters proposals are satisfactory with regard to appearance, landscaping, layout and scale and are in accordance with the relevant development plan policies.

“As required through conditions attached to the outline planning permission the proposals relating to waste and recycling and hours of operation are also considered satisfactory and in accordance with the relevant policies.

“The application is therefore recommended for approval.”

Planning committee chairman Coun Brian Rollo said: “This is very small, just a moving around of what we had before, and on that basis I can see no reason to turn this down.”
