More than 100 firefighters from Lancashire and Greater Manchester fought the flames as the fire broke out Recycling Lives on Red Scar, off Longridge Road, on Thursday night.

Steve Jackson, chief executive officer of Recycling Lives, today said CCTV from his business and neighbouring companies would be being screened as part of the probe into what caused the fire.

Station manager Gary West, who was at the scene throughout the night, said: “We are not sure at this stage how it started - that is being investigated. But we can’t rule anything out yet.
