In total 13 people have now been arrested as part of Operation Nimrod, an operation dedicated to tackling drug-related crime right across the county.

Six of the 13 people arrested have been charged and seven of are currently in custody.

Most of the dawn raids took place in Fleetwood.

Warrants were executed at Martindale Avenue, Belmont Road, London Street and Poulton Road.

Detective Chief Insp Vicki Evans, Lancashire Constabulary, said: “This was our second day of Nimrod raids and it highlights our commitment to tackling class A drugs and the problems that come with them.

“This can range from the anti-social behaviour that comes with people calling at a dealer’s home at all hours to the serious crimes like burglary, car crime and robbery which are often committed to fund a drug habit.”

DCI Evans added: “Nimrod is an intelligence-led operation that targets drug crime and in this instance has involved months of evidence gathering on alleged drug dealing in and around Fleetwood.

“This is a focused police response to a community problem. Residents have sent us a very clear message that they do not want people who illegally deal drugs to live among them.

“I would like to reassure people that if they have concerns about their neighbourhoods then we will take action.”

Anyone with information about drugs or drug dealing should contact police on 101, or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111. In an emergency always dial 999.
