Thieves made of with thousands from Domino’s Pizza by breaking into the property next door on Hilmore Way.
A vehicle was used to ram-raid the doors to an empty building next to Domino’s between midnight and 9am on Friday November 6.
Once inside offenders used cutting equipment to make a hole in a wall which separates the takeaway from the neighbouring property, allowing entry to a rear office and safe.
It is believed an angle grinder was used to carve a hole in the top of the safe of which £5,000 was taken.
The individuals then left through the same entry point.
Detectives are appealing for anyone with information to contact officers.
DC Sam Johnson of Lancaster CID said: “This was a well-planned theft which resulted in thousands of pounds being stolen from a takeaway.
“The equipment used to gain entry is likely to have caused a significant amount of noise and we would like to speak to anyone who may have seen or heard anything to contact police.”
