RESIDENTS are being asked to help the Local Government Boundary Commission for England draw up new electoral divisions for Lancashire County Council.
The Commission has recommend the council should have 84 county councillors in future – the same as the current arrangements – but needs information from people and groups on how to draw up new boundaries. The aim is to deliver electoral equality so each county councillor represents the same number of voters.
Max Caller, chair of the Commission, said: “We will carefully consider all evidence that is provided during this phase of the review whoever it is from and whether it applies to the whole of Lancashire or just a small part of the county.”
