With the 70th anniversary of D-Day fast approaching 2376 (Bamber Bridge) Squadron Air Cadets are trying to find any local D-Day veterans.

The Squadron, situated on Mounsey Road in Bamber Bridge is holding a D-Day information Parade night on Monday June 9 from 7pm till 9.30pm.

On the night a short video entitled ‘Veterans Voices’ will be shown, this video was made for the 68th Anniversary and features one man from each of the Airborne units involved in the initial landings, including the late Fred Smith who served in the 13th (Lancashire) Battalion, The Parachute Regiment.

It also features Dr David Tibbs, Royal Army Medical Corps, Titch Raynor, Glider Pilot Regiment

All the men involved in the video were presented with a medal from the French Senate in recognition of their involvement on the day.

There will also be a short presentation about the 70th Anniversary Commemorations, from the Parachute Regiment perspective.
