Calf becomes trapped in canal near Lancaster

A calf was rescued after becoming trapped in a canal in Slyne today (April 20).

Two fire engines from Morecambe and Lancaster attended the scene in Folly Lane at around 2.40pm.

Firefighters donned their swift water rescue gear before saving the calf from the water.

Crews were at the scene for approximately half an hour.
