Cafe invitation to Armed Forces vets

Armed Forces veterans are invited to a social event in Leyland.

The first Veterans’ Café event will take place at Roccoco Coffee Lounge, Hough Lane, between 10am and 1pm on Saturday, April 22.

Guests will be able to enjoy a cup of tea and some snacks, while meeting veterans and finding out what services they can access. Serving members of the Armed Forces are also invited to the event.

Representatives from the Royal British Legion and SSAFA will be there. And there will be a special appearance from members of a motorcycle veterans group.

Subsequent Veterans’ Café events will take place monthly for at least six months. The Veterans’ Café project is being run jointly by South Ribble Borough Council and Brothers of Charity, which operates the café.

The Brothers of Charity Services provides a range of services to people with learning disabilities.

in Lancashire, it provides quality, innovative and price sensitive support to over 250 people across Chorley, Leyland, Preston and the Lancashire region to live independently in their own homes.

South Ribble Borough Council has an Armed Forces Community Covenant and has pledged to help members of the Armed Forces and veterans access support related to their life and work.
