Miller Homes have begun erecting some of the 71 houses planned over the next three years and a revamp of the park’s drives and car parking facilities has also started.

Already the Go Kart track has gone to make way for a new car park near to GB Antiques Centre, doubling the amount of disabled spaces available, and next to the CountryStyle Meats Farm Shop, a new restaurant is in the process of being built.

Allan Blackburn, owner of the park, asked people to be patient while work was completed.

He said: “I’ve been on this site for 25 years and never seen so much improvement, changes and development all at the same time.”

He added: “I’m thrilled to see the housing development finally start, as it’s been a dream of mine to have housing on this site for many years.”
