A leading Lancashire’s web design agency has called on the county’s e-businesses to apply for a leading award.
Orbit Internet has urged businesses which have used e-business to harness growth to look at entering the E-Business of the Year category at the Be Inspired Business Awards, the BIBAs.
It is sponsoring the category at the annual prize-giving which has 18 prizes up for grabs with more than 100 firms already having submitted applications.
Neil Snape, of the agency based in Lytham St Annes, said he believed even completing the awards’ rigorous application process could help a business grow stronger.
He said: “These awards give businesses of all sizes and in all sectors across Lancashire the chance to look at their strengths and weaknesses, then get some of the county’s elite business leaders to do the same.
“We have been proud to be involved with the BIBAs for a number of years and are delighted to be sponsoring the E-Business of the Year category, which we hope will be packed with fantastic businesses again.
“E-business is about utilising e-commerce, communications, internet technology and everything else to grow a great business and we are proud to be celebrating that.”
Organisers, the North and Western Lancashire Chamber of Commerce, has revealed how more than 100 businesses already have their applications in with less than a month since the BIBAs opened for applications.
Chief executive Babs Murphy said they were delighted at the quality of the entries received so far.
She said: “What has been particularly pleasing is that the vast majority of entrants are new to the BIBAs, and we are delighted they have joined the race for ‘the one they all want to win.’
“It is a great start but there is still a long way to go until April 11 when we close for applications, so I would urge businesses not to leave their applications until the last minute.”
