International Sportswear Company, Kukri, has announced they’ll be providing the Team Scotland competition kit for the track and field athletes for the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow.
Preston-based Kukri are already the official kit supplier to Scottish Athletics and have been since 2012.
The news comes as brand Kukri sign up Scotland’s most successful track and field athletes of recent years, Libby Clegg, as a Kukri Athlete Ambassador.
With two Paralympic Games silver medals, a World Championships gold and two European Championship golds to her name, Libby, who is registered blind, will be a fantastic ambassador for the brand.
She will be wearing the new Kukri kit along with all of the Team Scotland Athletics team competing at the Commonwealth Games later this year where it’s hoped the sprinter, along with her guide Mikail Huggins, will win gold on home turf. Libby said: “I have always been a massive fan of Kukri as the scottishathletics kit is extremely comfortable to wear.
“Now I am going to have my own bespoke kit to wear throughout the season, which I am very excited about!”
Kukri Sales Director, Scott Gamble said: “As a Scotsman I’m extremely proud to continue working in partnership with scottishathletics.
“It’s such an exciting time to be involved with the Scotland team who have so much brilliant talent and some real future medal potentials like Libby. We are honoured to be the chosen sports brand when the Scottish athletes represent their country.”
