Global creative agency Saatchi and Saatchi has been unveiled as a sponsor for Lancashire’s premier business awards.
Organisers of the Be Inspired Business Awards, the BIBAs, has unveiled the firm as the official sponsor of its prize-giving ceremony which takes place at the iconic Blackpool Tower in September.
The awards are now open for applications with 18 prizes up for grabs including the lifetime achievement award, Lancastrian of the Year.
Saatchi and Saatchi’s global chief executive Kevin Roberts, who was born in Lancaster and attended Lancaster Royal Grammar School, said he was delighted the firm’s iconic global brand would be connected to one of the country’s leading business awards.
He said: “As someone who was born and bred in Lancashire, I recognise this county as somewhere business thrives through never being willing to accept second best.
“The BIBAs are all about celebrating the people, businesses and attitude which makes Lancashire great and that is a big part of what we believe at Saatchi and Saatchi.
“These awards are the premier brand for business in Lancashire and when I decided to align our brand with an awards, they were the obvious choice.”
The firm has been named as ceremony sponsors for this year’s awards organised by the North and Western Lancashire Chamber of Commerce.
Norman Tenray, vice-president of the Chamber whose Obas Group is sponsoring the Small Business of the Year category, said the arrival of Saatchi and Saatchi as a sponsor would raise the BIBAs to another level.
He said: “The BIBAs is already known across Lancashire as ‘the one they all want to win’ and this is only underlined by the calibre of sponsors and supporters it attracts.
“As businesses we recognise that our brand identity is a crucial tool in telling our customers what we are all about, and few businesses in the world represent this better than Saatchi and Saatchi.
“To have the power of their brand aligned to the BIBAs is testament for what these great awards stand for.”
Tickets are already on sale for the awards ceremony on Friday, September 21, with organisers having announced 250 tickets being snapped up in the first week of sales.
It is expected to attract another sell-out crowd with organisers promising another big-name entertainer. You can apply today for any of the 18 prizes by visiting www.thebibas.co.uk.
