A Preston business is planning an eye-watering record attempt to mark the start of a new beginning.

Body piercing outfit Capellli Remi is hoping to see hundreds of customers through their doors during a marathon session later this month.

Daniel Kynaston and James Taylor of Capeli Remi will be trying to pierce 1,000 people for a record

Boss Daniel Kynaston hopes the number of piercings can reach a minimum of 1,000 with the business due to soon move into the new market facility in the heart of the city.

He told the Lancashire Post: “The event is a mark of thanks to our customers. We started off upstairs in the markets, with just one stall and a small selection of body jewellery.

“The single stall soon turned into two stalls, then three and four and now we’re a successful company with branches throughout Lancashire, a huge selection of products and a training academy.”

Staff had hoped to set a world record for the among of piercings in one day but have opted instead to set an unofficial benchmark, citing high fees associated with verifying an official record.

It will be the third annual event to coincide with Black Friday at Capelli Remi but the first with the added competitive element.

Customers can kick-off the piercing action from 7am.

Daniel added: “As it will be the last in the markets, we hope to make it as big and as memorable as possible. Preston market has been so good to us over the years and we are very excited to be moving into the new markets.”
