Preston’s historic KFC is to stay in its home on Fishergate.
The fast food outlet was the first outside the US and Canada, opening its doors in May 1965, but mystery surrounded its future after bosses decided not to renew the lease.
In December, an A-board appeared above the three-storey shop, which was listed online at a rental of £75,000 per year and rates of £32,535.
But agents Stephen Kane and Company, which had been marketing the property, confirmed they were no longer marketing it, and the A-board outside the shop would be brought down shortly.
They said the current tenants, KFC, would be remaining in the premises.
