A Lancashire motor group has had a great response to its £1.5 million showroom upgrade – after a successful launch event.

The Chorley Group, which operates dealerships in Chorley, Preston, Wigan, Burnley and Blackpool, is the first Nissan franchise in Lancashire to install the new-look showrooms.

Work has now finished on the upgrade to the group’s Preston dealership, with the refurb being rolled out to the firm’s other dealerships over the next 18 months.

Managing director Pauline Turner said the launch event in Preston was a huge success.

He said: “More than 150 people attended, with a mixture of both customers and staff. We had a cheese and wine tasting competition, and customers could take advantage of a free valet on the night.

“We had lots of great feedback about the new showroom, with comments about how relaxing it is and how it flows nicely,” she added.

The new-look showroom has no desks, and customer lounges have been installed, offering refreshments and iPads for children to play games and browse the internet.

The aim of the new concept is to put the customer in the centre of the dealership and to remove the traditional barriers, such as desks and PCs.
