Expanding construction supplies company OBAS UK has launched its first trade counter, taking on extra staff to enable the organisation to serve the community directly from its Lancashire headquarters.

Based at the organisation’s complex at Longridge, near Preston, complex, the new OBAS trade counter will enable national contractors, independent tradesmen and DIY enthusiasts to tap into the huge range of products stocked onsite. OBAS has invested heavily in preparation for the new trade counter.

This includes increases in the workforce, new clothing design and personalisation facilities, and a 50 per cent expansion of warehouse capacity. The counter is now open – with a formal opening taking place in June.

OBAS Managing Director, Norman Tenray, who is also vice president of the North and Western Lancashire Chamber of Commerce, said: “The trade counter gives the local community an opportunity to access our range of quality products, and benefit from our competitive pricing.

“We’re especially excited that the trade counter will give us the opportunity to meet more of our customers and plan to evolve our services to meet their specific expectations.”

Whilst trade and DIY clients will be able to simply drop in to the trade counter, during working hours OBAS will also be offering a Click & Collect facility from which will enable clients to buy online and collect later.
